1. Explain what the psychological disorder that the film is dealing with is, what is its cause, and what are its symptoms.
This movie deals with extreme post traumatic stress disorder resulting in confusing, violent, and delusional behavior. PTSD can happen after many things that are usually associated with fear. The main character lost his wife, three daughters, and his dog in the 911 plane crash and after that he has a very hard time remembering his family. When he tries to remember things about his past it leads to violent behavior and obnoxious yelling. The main character also shows signs of paranoia, he thinks that random people around him are shrinks but they are just normal people.

2. Explain how this disorder is usually treated. Was this how it was treated in the film? Explain how it was dealt with in the film.
Post traumatic stress is usually treated with individual or group therapy. There are few medicines that can be used, but therapy is the most common treatment. In the movie, the main character went to individual therapy and that did not do much good until the therapist told him that he must share what happened with someone he is most comfortable with. The PTSD was not really treated, but after the guy became good friends with someone he sort of got better and better. Paranoia wasn't treated in the movie and doctors diagnosed him with only extreme PTSD, but sign of paranoia were obvious and it is usually treated with antipsychotic drugs.

3. What you learned from watching this film.
I learned how PTSD can be treated and how it can be shown in the real world.

4. Your reason for choosing the film.
I chose this film because it was one of the more recent and modern films, also because Adam Sandler is one of my favorite actors.
